Former NHS worker backs me for Blackpool South
Corrina Lunn got in touch to ask if she could publicly support me in my campaign to be MP for Blackpool South.
In the 17 years Corrina worked for the NHS she saw a shocking decline in the health service. Every year under the Conservatives budgets were less and staff were given cost cutting tasks. She watched as the knock on effects unfold - longer waiting times for patients, a decrease in the quality of care, and staff working overtime with as much as three times the caseload.
Corrina has not only been let down as a hard-working NHS staff member but also as a widowed mother trying to support her children after such a devastating time in their lives.
After losing her husband in 2019, when her twins were just 10 years old, Corrina found out that instead of receiving financial support until he children left education, she would only receive 18 months due to a change brought in by the Conservative government.
Britain needs a government that invests in and protects our essential services, our communities and in families like Corrina’s.
After 14 years of austerity, this Thursday is our chance to turn the page on these dark days under the Conservatives.
Vote Labour on 4th July.
