Blackpool’s Indian Cultural Festival

This weekend  I attended Blackpool’s second Indian Cultural Festival at the Tower headland with my family.

Supported by Blackpool Council, this brilliant event was organised by Fylde Coast Hindu Society who I would like to offer my warmest congratulations and thanks to them for bringing such a vibrant and uplifting celebration of Indian heritage to our town.

Hundreds of people attended to take part in dance and yoga, have henna tattoos and more.

It was a pleasure to chat to Chirag Khajuria, chairman of society, who has my full support in making this an annual event. This was a brilliant example of community cohesion that I hope to see more of in Blackpool.

Thank you to Elizabeth Gomm and the Fylde Coast Hindu Society for these brilliant pictures that really capture the energy of what was a fantastic family day out.
