Uber: UNLICENSED taxis in blackpool
I used my first question in Parliament to raise the issue of the scourge of unlicenced taxis in Blackpool. Uber and similar companies, which have no operating licence in Blackpool, are allowing passengers to use their unlicensed taxis creating a real public safety risk. Since raising the issue in parliament I have had several meetings and conversations in Westminster, with the council, Uber and Blackpool Taxi Association. Significant steps have been made as a result and I will continue to fight this issue alongside our local cabbies until the issue is resolved.
