My Maiden Speech
I was grateful for the opportunity to give my maiden speech in Parliament at short notice and at the last opportunity before the general election which was called two days before. Had I not, I would have risked a lifetime of being the answer to an obscure pub quiz question – about which MP never gave a maiden speech in their first Parliamentary term.
