Shocking new Knife Crime statistics for blackpool
On 22 May I shared new figures from the Home Office revealing that under the Conservatives weapons offences have increased by 416% since 2015/2016 in Blackpool – almost 4 times as many as the national average.
These figures reveal the total failure of the Tories on law and order, with families and communities in Blackpool paying a price much higher than in many parts of the country.
Just last week the Conservatives voted against proposals put forward by the Labour Party to ban ninja swords – a weapon amongst those used in violent street crimes and all too often found in our communities.
Labour will ensure town centre patrols by deploying 13,000 more neighbourhood police and PCSOs, and I’m working to ensure hundreds of them are allocated to Blackpool.
