Food parcels, furniture and toys available from Blackpool charity
The Kensington Foundation is a Blackpool-based charity which aims to promote the relief of homelessness, poverty, deprivation and distress. I recently visited the charity’s resource centre on Whitegate Drive and found an incredible range of services within.
The Crisis Grant Line collects and redistributes good quality furniture, bedding and other essential items for those in need.
The Community Food Cupboard delivers food parcels, toiletries and other essentials.
The Jack in the Box toy cupboard based at the Foundation is packed to the rafters with toys for and books for all ages.
The Daisy Chain Project offers respite holidays for special needs young people and their families in purpose built flats in Blackpool.
Charity staff told me that their main ambition is for its services to be better utilised by the community.
If you or someone you know is in need please contact the Kensington Foundation on 01253 761444 or email kentrust1@hotmail.com.
